Lubrizol Corp. is debuting a medical-grade thermoplastic polyurethane with flame-retardant properties.
The new Tecothane TPU allows a new level of safety in electronically driven medical environments, according to Lubrizol.
“Products that reduce the risk of spreading fire are becoming essential,” notes Ralf Hüther, global market manager for Lubrizol LifeScience Polymers.
Lubrizol claims the new material also delivers inherent benefits of TPU such as chemical resistance and durability.
